Meridian is a stock and cryptocurrency trading simulator. No real money, bank account, card, or payment method is ever collected, connected, or required — every balance and trade in Meridian is virtual. This policy covers the web app and the iOS app, which share one account system and one backend.
What we collect
- Account information: the email address, username, and password you register with, and an optional display name you choose to add. Passwords are stored and verified by Firebase Authentication — Meridian never stores your password directly.
- Simulated trading activity: your virtual cash balances, holdings, watchlist, and order history — all synthetic, generated by your use of the simulator.
- Social features you opt into: friend requests, league memberships, and, if you turn on a public profile, the username, display name, and return percentage shown on it.
- Standard technical data: IP address and request logs our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Google Firebase) collect to operate and secure the service.
What we don’t do
No advertising SDKs, no analytics or tracking pixels, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and we never sell or rent your data to anyone. Market prices are fetched from public data sources (Yahoo Finance, Coinbase, Frankfurter) without sending them any information that identifies you.
Where your data lives
Account and app data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data is used only to operate Meridian’s features — authenticating you, running your simulated trades, computing the leaderboard, and showing your portfolio back to you.
Your choices
- Your profile is private by default; you choose if and when to make it public.
- You can edit your display name, username, and profile visibility at any time in Settings.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings, in both the web app and the iOS app — this removes your holdings, orders, watchlist, friendships, league memberships, and account record, and cannot be undone.
Children
Meridian is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
